Director of Accounting

With a passion for numbers and family history of his grandfather and father working in the mechanical field, working in the construction industry was inevitable for Donald, but on the accounting side. Mr. Wilson has overseen several regional offices throughout the US and has worked on thousands of projects worth billions of dollars.

After receiving his business degree, he began working for a mechanical contractor based in Maryland before moving on to work for HITT Contracting in 1992. During his 25-year tenure, he advanced from Project Accountant to Director of Project Accounting, which led to heading the accounting department at UIP General Contracting from April 2017 November 2019, prior to joining Corenic shortly after.

Some of his greatest accomplishments include accounting software implementations, accounting software workflow programming, and accounting software end user training. His motto is “let the systems do the compliance checking if it can be done that way”.

As the Director of Accounting, Mr. Wilson loves managing the accounting teams and watching them advance as they continue to learn and grow. Mr. Wilson sees accounting as a supportive role within a construction company, so communication and collaboration and
teamwork are what he strives to emphasize with his teams.

With a love for his wife and daughters and avid local sports fan, when he is not working out the figures, he can be found playing ice hockey in a local men’s league and teaching his daughters to skate and play golf.
